How to set your Targeting

Before anything else happens, Nitreo needs to know who you’re trying to reach. That’s where targeting comes in. You set the direction—we’ll handle the rest. 🚀 Getting started Head to your dashboard and open the Targeting tab. From there, click Add Target to begin. You’ll be asked to choose between two types: • Accounts: These are Instagram profiles your ideal audience already follows. Think creators, influencers, brands, even competitors. • Hashtags: These help you find users posting about specific topics. Stick with niche or industry-related tags to keep your results relevant. Note: You must set your targets for your growth to start. A few ground rules Not every Target is a good Target. To get the best results, keep these things in mind: • Avoid the extremes. Targets under 20K followers get used up quickly, while targets over 250K tend to be full of inactive users or bots. • Check your followback rate. This is the percentage of users from a target that actually follow you back. You’ll see this stat next to each target—aim for 10% or higher. Anything under 5% probably needs to go. • Use filters to tighten things up. Filters help us skip over accounts that don’t match your criteria (too few posts, too many followings, private profiles, etc.). • Keep testing. Don’t just set your targets once and forget it. If something’s not working, swap it out and try something new. Archiving targets If there’s a target you’re not using right now but might want to return to later, you can archive it. This pauses all engagement without deleting your data. - Click the target you want to pause - Select Archive - To bring it back, head to the Archived section and click Restore

How to Filter your Audience

Filtering is one of the easiest ways to improve how Nitreo works for your account. It helps the system focus on users who actually make sense for what you’re trying to build, instead of wasting time on profiles that were never going to follow you back in the first place. What filters do By default, Nitreo looks at everyone your Targets point to. But not everyone is a good fit. Some users are inactive. Some are too big to even notice you followed them. Others might be following thousands of accounts and won’t even see your profile. Filters let you cut through that noise and stick to people who are more likely to care. Where to find your filters Go to the Targeting section in your dashboard and click on the Filters tab. You’ll see a list of options you can use to narrow things down. Here’s what you can adjust: Follower count - This controls the size of the accounts Nitreo engages with. Users with a smaller follower count are more likely to notice you and follow back. Once someone has more than 2,000 followers, it’s common for interactions to get buried. Following count - If someone is already following thousands of other accounts, your follow will probably get lost in the pile. Lowering this number helps Nitreo focus on people who are more selective, and more likely to pay attention. Post count - Want to avoid dead or inactive accounts? Set a minimum number of posts. It helps Nitreo steer clear of users who haven’t posted in months or who barely use Instagram. Public vs Private - You can choose whether Nitreo should engage with public accounts, private ones, or both. Just know that private profiles don’t support all filters. For example, we can’t see how many posts someone has until they accept the follow. NSFW content - By default, Nitreo skips over adult content. If your brand works in that space and you need to include it, you can turn this on. Need to reset? Hit the Magic Filters button to restore default settings. These are based on what’s worked well across most active users.

How to set up your first Instagram Account

Before Nitreo can help you grow your audience, you’ll need to do a few simple things inside your dashboard. No stress — you don’t need to be an expert. You just need to set a few things up and let the system do the heavy lifting after that. Step 1: Add your Instagram account To start, you’ll need to connect your Instagram account to Nitreo. Look for the red banner at the top of your dashboard that says “Connect Account”. Click the button and follow the instructions in a new secure popup that will appear. If Instagram asks you to confirm the login in your app, that’s normal. You're being logged in from a new device. Just click “This was me” and you'll be good to go. It only takes a second. Step 2: Pick who you want to reach Next, you’ll need to add your Targets. These are other accounts or hashtags that attract the kind of audience you’re trying to reach. Think of this like giving Nitreo a roadmap. The more relevant your Targets are, the better your results will be. Start off by adding about 10-15 targets by clicking the Add Target button: Every account is different, so it’s important to only add Targets that make sense for your niche. You can set two types of Targets: Instagram Account - Nitreo will engage with users who follow that account. This works best when you add creators, brands, or competitors that already have the type of audience you’re trying to reach. Instagram Hashtags - Nitreo will find users who’ve posted using that hashtag and interact with them directly. Pick hashtags your ideal follower would actually use — not just what’s trending. Step 3: Set your filters Filters let you decide who Nitreo should and shouldn’t interact with. Not everyone on Instagram is a good fit — filters help you stay focused. Inside your dashboard, you’ll be able to adjust: - The minimum number of users someone should be following - The minimum number of followers someone should have - The minimum number of posts someone should have - Whether the users Nitreo targets should be public or private - The gender of users Nitreo should be targeting - If NSFW content should be excluded (this is off by default) You can update these filters anytime. If you’re unsure where to start, keep the default settings (aka magic filters) and adjust later based on your results. Step 4: Let it run Once your account is connected, your Targets are added, and your filters are set — Nitreo takes over. From this point forward, the system begins working in the background to interact with users who fit your preferences. To track your growth, head to your dashboard homepage: - See your recent follower count - Check how each Target is performing - View the queue of users Nitreo is scheduled to engage with And that's it, you're all set for growth! As you can tell, getting started with Nitreo only takes a few minutes, but it’s important to set it up properly. Of course, you can always come back and adjust the setup along the way, but a good initial setup makes everything smoother. Once you’re in motion, growth becomes a lot easier to manage.

What to do before using Nitreo

Before Nitreo starts growing your account, it is a good idea to make sure your profile looks active and worth following. You do not need a perfect feed or a huge following to start. You just need your account to feel real. A little effort up front helps avoid issues later and sets you up for better results. Get some activity going If your account is brand new or has been quiet for a while, you want to warm it up first. Spend a few days doing simple things: - Like and comment on posts from people in your niche - Follow a few accounts you actually find interesting - Respond to any comments or DMs you already have It does not take much. You just want your account to look like there is a real person behind it, not a bot that suddenly woke up. Fill out your profile When someone lands on your page, you have a few seconds to make a first impression. If your profile feels empty or random, people will leave before you even get a chance to connect. Before turning Nitreo on, make sure you have: - At least 9 to 12 posts that show what your page is about - A profile photo that fits your style or brand - A short, clear bio that tells people why they should stick around - Some Story Highlights if you have good content worth saving (optional) It does not have to be complicated or perfect. It just needs to make your page feel complete. Start posting regularly Growth is easier when your account looks alive. If someone finds you and your last post was months ago, they are less likely to follow. A simple routine works best: - Post two to three times per week - Share Stories on the days you are not posting to your feed - Reply to comments and messages when they come in Consistency matters more than volume. It shows Instagram and real people that your account is active and worth following. Give your account a little breathing room Nitreo starts slow on purpose. It warms up your account naturally to avoid setting off any alarms with Instagram. If your account is very new or has been inactive for a while, it is better to let it build some normal activity first. Manual posting and engagement for a few weeks help a lot before you let Nitreo take over. If you are unsure how ready your account is, you can always reach out to our support team for advice. Key takeaway Growing an account is not just about gaining followers. It is about building something that feels real and worth engaging with. If your page looks active, clean, and clear, Nitreo can handle the rest. A little work now makes the entire growth process faster, safer, and much more rewarding.
